Kearney : Nebraska

Kearney is located on the Platte River in Buffalo County. It was named after Fort Kearny. Its strategic location on I-80 provides convenient access to important markets like Omaha-Lincoln, Denver, Kansas City, Des Moines, Wichita and Cheyenne.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Kearney covers a total area of 29.0 km² (11.2 mi²). 28.4 km² (11.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it (1.96%) is water. It receives an annual precipitation of 24.3 inches with an average growing season of 159 days.
