Introduction A city in Adams County, Hastings is located in the agricultural heartland of south-central Nebraska. The city is the "Birthplace of Kool-Aid" on the south of the Platte River. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of 25.8 km² (10.0 mi²) of which 25.5 km² (9.8 mi²) is occupied by land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (1.31%) by water.
