Introduction Grand Island is located 100 miles west of the City of Lincoln, 25 miles north of the City of Hastings and 50 miles east of the City of Kearney. It is surrounded by the Platte River to the south and the Loup River to the north. A county seat of Hall County, it was first established by the French fur trappers who also incidentally coined the name. It was first incorporated in 1872, and now boasts of many exciting developments as “The City of Kindness”.
Grand Island is well connected to Interstate-80, US Highways 281, 30, and 34, and Nebraska Highway 2, as well as the Central Nebraska Regional Airport. It is the fourth largest city in Nebraska and the retail hub of central Nebraska, offering lodging, dining, shopping, entertainment, service programs, and information to the 30-plus rural communities in a 90-mile surrounding area.
It experiences four distinct seasons with blooming flowers in spring and the tunning fall beauty.
